Pediatric CPR
CPR is modified for children aged between one and eight years old.
- Perform five cycles of compressions and rescue breaths for about two minutes before contacting emergency help
- Use one hand for compressions, between the nipples or on the center of the chest
- Breathe more gently, watching for rise and fall of the chest
- Compression rate is the same (30:2)
- Use pediatric automated external defibrillation (AED) pads if possible
